ACCESS FOR EVERY CUSTOMER
A clear account of the work in place and the work still to do.
This statement explains the accessibility measures currently built into the website, the areas that still need a complete assessment and the support available if a customer meets a barrier.

1. About this statement
1.1 What it covers
This statement covers the customer journey on webuyback.co.uk, including device search and selection, quotations, the basket, checkout, order confirmation, printable order documents and customer support.
1.2 Our commitment
We want disabled customers to be able to use the same service with as much independence as possible. We also provide a human support route when the website or a document does not work for someone.
2. Accessibility target and current status
2.1 Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, at Level AA across the complete customer journey.
2.2 Current assessment status
The technical accessibility review covered 55 WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria. Its fixed historical results are 19 Pass, 1 Fail, 12 Not Applicable and 23 Unknown. Later responsive testing supplied the previously missing evidence for WCAG 1.3.4 Orientation and 1.4.10 Reflow, and both now have bounded technical Passes. The earlier WCAG 2.5.3 Label in Name failure described below has also been repaired in both verified controls. Without rewriting the historical review, the current technical position is 22 Pass, 0 Fail, 12 Not Applicable and 21 Unknown. At Level A the current split is 14 Pass, 0 Fail, 6 Not Applicable and 11 Unknown; at Level AA it is 8 Pass, 0 Fail, 6 Not Applicable and 10 Unknown.
2.3 The earlier proven failure and its repair
The earlier review recorded one failure, WCAG 2.5.3, Label in Name. It had two verified manifestations: the header control visibly said “Cart” while its accessible name began “View basket”, and the Order Confirmation control visibly said “Copy number” or “Copied” while its accessible name began “Copy order number”. Both controls now use accessible names that contain their visible wording in each state. The current technical totals above treat that criterion as a bounded Pass; this does not replace real assistive-technology testing.
These counts are bounded technical findings, not a WCAG conformance claim. Unknown does not mean pass or fail, and a feature being present in code does not prove how every person or assistive technology experiences it.
3. Measures currently built into the website
3.1 Navigation and focus
The website declares British English, provides a skip link, uses visible focus styles and contains keyboard-operable patterns for the core controls covered by the technical review.
3.2 Forms and errors
Forms use visible labels, required-field information, field-linked error messages and focusable error or success summaries. Checkout also contains explicit focus management when a customer moves between steps.
3.3 Product choices and status updates
Product condition and option controls contain keyboard-operable patterns, and several quote, checkout and order-success states use status or live regions. Exact spoken announcements have not been verified with the real assistive-technology combinations listed below.
3.4 Motion and images
The features checked include motion controls, text alternatives and repaired focus, form, error and status patterns. The recorded results cover only the criteria and website states that were actually tested.
4. Known limitations and unresolved evidence
4.1 Text resize, reflow and text spacing
Native 200% text resize and the exact WCAG text-spacing overrides have not yet been tested, so success criteria 1.4.4 and 1.4.12 remain Unknown. Later responsive testing covered 275 route states across 27 viewports. All 7,425 combinations passed, including 550 observations at exactly 320 CSS pixels and 1,375 observations across five landscape profiles, with no horizontal-scroll findings. No author-imposed orientation lock was found. On that bounded technical evidence, 1.3.4 Orientation and 1.4.10 Reflow are now Pass.
4.2 Private and persisted order states
Testing of private and saved order states was deliberately deferred. Five criteria therefore remain Unknown for those states: 2.2.1, 2.4.3, 2.4.7, 2.4.11 and 3.3.8. Nine others have evidence supporting Pass for tested states, but their corresponding private-order states remain untested: 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 3.2.1, 3.2.2, 3.3.1, 3.3.2, 3.3.3, 4.1.2 and 4.1.3.
4.3 Real human assistive-technology testing
Human assistive-technology testing has not yet taken place. The remaining work requires knowledgeable human evaluation with NVDA in Chrome and Firefox and VoiceOver in Safari, alongside keyboard, zoom and reflow review of the complete order journey.
4.4 Announcement risks remain for human testing
The technical review recorded possible announcement risks for later human testing. It did not verify exact spoken output, so those risks do not have a failure verdict. You can ask for help or another format if an update or document is not usable.
5. Compatibility and testing
5.1 Work completed so far
The review combined technical inspection, automated checks and bounded manual evidence across a range of pages and states. The historical result remains 19 Pass, 1 Fail, 12 Not Applicable and 23 Unknown. Later responsive evidence and the verified Label in Name repair change the current technical position only as described above; they do not turn the remaining evidence gaps into passes.
5.2 Testing still required
Further evidence is still required for native 200% text resize, the exact WCAG text-spacing overrides, private order states and the listed human assistive-technology combinations. Responsibilities for completing and maintaining this work also need to be confirmed, alongside qualified accessibility review. No browser or assistive-technology combination is described as tested until that work has actually happened.
6. Getting help using We Buy Back
If a barrier prevents you from searching, getting a quote, completing an order or accessing support, use the Accessibility Support form. Tell us what you were trying to do and what would help.
You can also email [email protected] or call 0114 698 4201. Please do not send passwords, payment details, activation codes, identity documents or medical evidence.
7. Requesting information in another format
Use the form below if an order confirmation, label, policy or another part of the service is not usable in its current format. You can ask for accessible HTML, plain text, large print or explain another format that would help.
Submitting the form records the content concerned and the requested format or support, then creates a notification record. On 1 September 2026 the notification connection was not configured. Any staff assessment, delivery of another format or response is separate from the form and was not independently verified.
8. Reporting an accessibility barrier
Choose the closest topic in the dedicated form. Conditional fields appear only when they can help us understand the issue, such as the page, browser, assistive technology, order reference or requested format.
You do not need to disclose a diagnosis, disability or medical history. A short explanation of the task, what happened and the outcome you need is enough to start.
9. How we handle a report
9.1 What we do first
The form stores the reference, reported page or document and requested support or format, then creates a notification record. It does not itself provide support, investigate the report or send a response. On 1 September 2026 the notification connection was not configured, and later staff handling was not independently verified.
9.2 If you remain dissatisfied
Reply with your reference and explain what remains unresolved. You can also seek advice from the Equality Advisory and Support Service or obtain independent legal advice. We do not describe the Equality and Human Rights Commission as an individual complaints service.
10. Review dates and company details
10.1 Statement dates
This statement was prepared on 23 August 2026 and last reviewed on 1 September 2026 against the technical accessibility evidence then available. It will be updated when further assessment produces verified findings.
10.2 Company information
WE BUY BACK LTD is registered in England and Wales under company number 16713774. Its registered office is 11 The Crofts, Rotherham, England, S60 2DJ. The current director is Zohab Khan.
Companies House registration alone is not a postage instruction. Follow only the postage route and address attached to your order. The registered office is not presented as a public walk-in or general drop-off point.
A qualified accessibility review remains recommended. This public statement does not represent that the outstanding human assistive-technology work has already taken place.
