NO PRINTER AT HOME?

You still have an easy route.

Use the option supplied with your order. A QR code and a collection label solve different handover needs.

QR at an approved location

Take the code to the Royal Mail location named in your instructions so the label can be printed there.

Bring My Label

If it is offered while booking collection, the postie brings the label. A QR code is not itself a collection label.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Match the postage protection to the value you are sending.

Tracked does not always mean the same level of cover. Check the service before the parcel leaves your hands.

Check the included cover

Use the cover shown with your order. For Self Post, choose cover that matches the device value.

Check device acceptance

Make sure the carrier accepts electronics with installed batteries under the service you choose.

Keep the handover record

Retain the receipt, collection confirmation and tracking until the order is complete.

BUSINESS AND BULK HANDOVERS

Sending a cupboard, not a single device?

For a mixed collection or a larger quantity, tell our business team what you have before choosing a consumer postage route.

POSTAGE METHOD QUESTIONS

Choose with the practical details clear.

Answers about free routes, printers, collection availability, carrier cover and business handovers.

Ask us about a postage route
Which postage method is free?

Royal Mail Free Post and Royal Mail Free Collection are free to you when they are offered with your We Buy Back order. Self Post is arranged and paid for by you.

Do I need a printer?

Not always. Royal Mail Free Post may include a QR option for label printing at the approved location in your instructions. An eligible collection may offer Bring My Label. Self Post depends on the carrier and service you choose.

Can I get free postage or collection for my phone?

Royal Mail Free Post and eligible Free Collection have no postage charge when offered. Availability depends on your postcode, booking date and current Royal Mail services.

Can I use my own courier?

Yes. Choose Self Post, use the address supplied with your order and select a tracked service that accepts the device you are sending. Check that its compensation cover suits the device value.

What should I consider for a higher-value device?

Check the cover shown with the postage route on your order. If you choose Self Post, select a tracked service whose compensation and exclusions are suitable for the value you are sending.

Will every carrier accept a phone or laptop battery?

No. Carrier rules for electronic devices and installed batteries can differ. Check the service restrictions before paying for Self Post, especially if the battery is damaged or looks unsafe.

What if I am sending devices for a business?

Use our Business Recycling route so the team can understand the quantity, device mix and handover needs before recommending the next step.

Where do I find the exact instructions after ordering?

Your order confirmation contains the postage route attached to your order and the relevant label, QR or collection instructions. Follow that confirmation before using the How to Post guide for preparation and packing.
